Red Line South Stations | Dallas, TX
DART’s $128.8 million Red and Blue Line Platforms Extensions project aimed to modify the platforms at 28 existing light rail stations along the Red and Blue Lines to increase capacity by allowing the operation of 3-car trains on the Red, Blue and Orange (operating on the North Central Corridor) Lines. LS Gallegos served as a subconsultant providing cost estimating services for the Red Line South Stations as part of the Project. LSG was tasked with preparing cost estimates in FTA’s Standard Cost Categories (SCC) format, bid schedules, and supporting documentation, including, but not limited to, a Basis of Estimate, at various milestones throughout the engineering phase of work. Estimates included the following scope items: demolition and relocations, the modification of existing elements of the station platforms, including installation of new platform lighting, replacement of seating at the Windscreens, Wayfinding Signage and electronic patron safety warning systems. Included in the Red South Stations, Group C, package is the Operation Related Improvement for extension of the tailtracks at the Westmoreland Station.
