Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro), Project Management and Support Services Contract for Measure R Transportation Program, Los Angeles, CA
In 2008, voters approved Measure R, a half-cent sales tax, to fund the design and construction of several new rail, bus, and highway improvement projects. LS Gallegos as a subconsultant to Hill International is providing full-time, on-site Sr. Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Cost Estimators to support contractor change order negotiations on the LAX/Crenshaw Light Rail Transit and Southwest Yards Project, and Purple Line Rapid Transit Extension Project.
Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD), FasTracks, Eagle P3 Project
The Eagle P3 Project is a $2.0 billion rail transit project involving a Public-Private Partnership (P3) where the RTD contracted with a private consortium to Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Maintain component projects of the RTD’s FasTracks Program. The component projects included: the 22-mile East Corridor Electrified Commuter Rail Line, the 11-mile Electrified Commuter Rail Gold Line, a short segment of the Northwest Rail Commuter Rail Line, and a Commuter Rail Maintenance Facility. LS Gallegos as a subconsultant to Fluor/HDR Global Design Consultants, a member of the Denver Transit Partners Consortium, provided project controls support during the design and construction phases of the project. Additionally, LS Gallegos provided an on-site team to support Document Control, Project Scheduling, and Project Administration.
Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART), Construction Management Support Services Contract, San Francisco, CA
LS Gallegos as a subconsultant to AECOM, the prime Construction Management Support Services Contractor, provided a Resident Engineer and a Sr. Electrical Inspector to oversee construction activities on BART’s system-wide Transfer Power System Upgrade Project and Warm Springs Rapid Transit Extension Project. The Warm Springs Extension Project was the first phase of a rapid transit extension connecting the City of San Jose, CA to the BART Rapid Transit System on the East Bay.
AMTRAK, Project Management Oversight Consultant Services Contract
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 appropriated $1.3 billion and authorized the Secretary of Transportation to provide grants to Amtrak for investments in capital security. These investments include: life safety improvements, repair, rehabilitation, upgrades of existing railroad assets and infrastructure, as well as capital projects that expand passenger rail capacity, including the rehabilitation of rolling stock. AMTRAK projects funded by the Recovery Act span the United States of America. LS Gallegos as a subconsultant to the AECOM/CH2M Joint Venture, provides an on-site team in AMTRAK’s Philadelphia Project Office supporting Document Control, Information Technology Systems Design, and Implementation.
